Hi Shari,

... just read in a forum that its common that USA uses ppm in regards to water concentration like germany uses mg/L.

If that were so than 800 ppm CO2 were 800 mg/L (0,8 g/l CO2)

found nice math ... if you ever bored.. german speaking was of no help to me :?

Enjoy

ADDITION, 11.Feb.07 (Europe):

... in the meantime it is fact, that in regards to CO2 concentration in water, 1ppm = 1mg/l. Some aquaristic test sets show both "ppm" and "mg/l" in one and the same chart.
...sometimes life is simpler than we think...

Thinking back about co2 and whats been discussed, I wanted to mention that it would be fine to use as little as you can, so long as the plants are happy and algea is at bay. Though the thing to remember is usually that wont happen on a higher light setup, you would also need to balance the light with the co2, meaning lower light as well. Even on low light low tech setups additional co2 will help, but often times something like Flourish Excel is sufficient rather than spending a couple hundred on a co2 outfit.
