Sewellias arrived today and the days that follow (pictures)

Post by janma »

These are absolutely fabulous, only seen on pics so far and live they are even more amazing. Another thing that surprised me is how much bigger they were compared to my occelatus, though the mouth is so tiny. I need some help with the male:female ratio, don´t trust my own judgement, so here´s a pic with the whole bunch. Its a bad picture but hope it serves the purpose, will be back later with better takes.

Here's my breakdown of what I see. The F/M & M/F tags are where I'm not sure, but the first letter is what I think I see. Need clearer pics really.

Good ratio though :P

Martin.

Congratulations!! They are certainly beautiful and interesting fish. Fortunately, they seem to eat a wide variety of foods and adapt to captive diet easier than many hillstreams.

What are you feeding them in the pic? Is that a cucumber?
I especially like the last pic of the fish upside down in a cave. Mine do that often, too.

Lovely, janma! 8) My Sewellia also like a treat of cucumber now and again, and surprisingly they go mad for honeydew melon.
