These loaches arrived last week, listed as Burmese Squirrel Loaches. When the supplier sent me through a small pic beforehand, I had thought they were probably Acanthocobitis zonalternans. What do you all reckon?:











Some have very yellowy coloured fins, and all are very inquisitive, literally queuing up to have their photos taken! Sorry for the water marks, these were taken in a rush (no time to clean the glass, Martin! ) but better shots will follow over the next few days.

The other fish in the first pic are Psilorhynchus balitora from India. Very cute little torrent 'cats' (really a cyprinid).

Lovely fish Emma, what do they seem like temperament wise ?

The Psilorhynchus balitora look very interesting, they resemble the native Gudgeon - Gobio Gobio quite a bit.

I have got a feeling that you have done this on purpose Emma, do you realise the problems I am going to have now when I visit at the end of April , and the worst part is the wife will be there to kill me on the spot I wont have the chance to make up a good excuse as to why I had to buy them on the way home .

Thanks Emma, I am waiting on a local importer for some Botia Histrionica and some Mesonoemacheilus triangularis but I may have to have a think about a couple of those Squirrel Loach

I like the look of those Psilorhynchus too. Never encountered those before Mad Duff there are M. triangularis up in Newcastle at the minute!

Hi Anne Marie I think the Doghouse comes as standard with Loaches , I am sure it will be ok though I have had plenty of practice at grovelling
