My first Clown

Post by mrjjangles »

So after the lfs finally received clowns in today with their shipment, I decided upon one. I definitely will get more for him to hide with and play around, but here is my first loach.

Unfortunately, the video doesn't seem to work for me at the moment, but will try again later.

I have to ask though, why did you only purchase one clown loach today? It would have settled in a lot better if you had bought a group of say 3 to start with, and then added more later. These are not solitary fish, they have great social needs, and during the settling in period they will find comfort in the company of their own kind.

Due to price issues I only purchased one earlier today ($10 each). I went back to the lfs and picked up another. I have 5 fantails and 2 clowns in the tank. Here is the latest video during feeding time.

Try your best to get another one..when you have 3 or more, that is when all the fun starts. :D

at the moment, do you have any hiding places for them?

And do fatten them up!:D

It is also safer to get 3 clowns at once than one by one.

Every time you buy a clown you risk getting ich (or something else..but ich is the most common problem). Getting them one by one essentially triples the risk factor, unless you quarantine...and it does not look like you do.
