Clown Behaviour

In the morning today after feeding the fish in my pond. I noticed that one of my clowns which is about 3.5 inches, was hanging around right next to this 4.5 inch clown. Infact it was right on the side of the bigger one, sort of pushing it to the side, and since the little one was pushing, the bigger one would move to the side but it was more like they were going around in circles with little ones body pressed against the side of the bigger one. The bigger one was trying to get away, but the little one kept chasing it around. Finally they went into a little cave and didn't see then for a while. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this sort of behaviour before ?

That is shadowing sanjeev, if you do a search there are a few topics on it.

my bigger ones tend to start getting quite annoyed with the little ones when the dont stop

Shadowing. Haha... thats funny... Yea.. i'm pretty sure that can be annoying. Thanks Mad Duff. The pics of the pond are actually from a few weeks ago. Had a huge algae outbreak after we cleaned up the pond. It was bad. Right now it seems to have stabilized. I'm still trying to set up a filter for it. I know, Its long overdue. Had some trouble finding vendors for Pond Filters here in Inida.

Helen, its basically a 'community' pond. Had it for 4 years now. Its been survivnig on a 50% water change each week. I'm planning to get a Bio Filter. Something like a Tetra PF-1 with a 1000 - 1500 GPH pump.

Its dark outside. But let me see if I can get a few pics.

Sanjeev that is a beautiful pond. you have what quite a few of us here can only dream of. thats why i wondered if i was confused. do you ever have problems with birds catching your fish?

Its dark outside and there's no light by the pond. I couldn't find any of the clowns. So I was just snapping away. The Clowns usually like to hide under the driftwood (seen in the 7th pic. Its hollow with a lot of space inside'.

The Drift wood in pic 3 is the latest addition to the tank. Put it in 3 days ago with Java Fern and Windelov on it. The debris has already covered it partially.

Once the filter is set up. The water should be a whole lot clearer. The algae should be removed too. I've added a lot of plants for now and that should stunt the algae growth.

Helen: Yea this one time, There was this kingfisher . It usually comes to this canal that we have close to home. I think it noticed the pond one day and popped in to say hello. But we gave it a nice goodbye. And it never came around after that. A year later the canal was covered for this housing project. So nowdays its okay. But its a scary thought.

I saw mine doing this yesterday--it lasted so long, and they looked virtually attached, it made me wonder if somehow their barbs on their mouths had gotten snagged!
