Rare Clown Loach ?

Hey all. Maybe someone can enlighten me. I've been interested in loaches for way longer than i care to admit but i have not ever heard of this...
Has anyone seen a "long finned" clown loach ? I saw one for sale today (well a photo of one) and it had long fins like a long fin bristlenose or veil tail guppy. Anybody know what the go is here ?

That is very interesting rev, I have never personally seen or even heard of a long finned Clown loach. Would it be at all possible to get a copy of the picture or a photo of the photo for us to see

Its not a great picture (bigger would be better) but looking at that it doesnt look as much long finned as long tailed. It certainly is a rarity and I would love to see some more better pictures of the fish.

Please god, let it not be some genetical experiment made for better selling, like we humans did with gold fishes and many othe fish species

It's certainly got a high dorsal fin.

If I didn't know better I'd say it had been photoshopped!

Hi Sophie. The guy selling this fish is quite well known at PlecoFanatics & although he does not yet have iTrader points, i would be very surprised indeed if this were in any way a joke or scam or in fact there was anything at all untoward going on here or with his photo. If i had doubts the said fish existed i would have PM'd him directly, informed a Moderator (Aust. Buy/Sell is tightly moderated) & definately not posted a thread on this forum. I just found it quite astounding that in twenty years plus of loach collecting, researching & admiring i had never seen or heard of this before.

I know the pic is tiny. I copied it to my files & enlarged it. It's blurry but you get the idea. Hopefully Mad Duff will get the full size pic via email from Sam & we can continue the debate. I see it has a few heads turning...lol.

rev, I was kind of joking

it's just that the dorsal looks like one of the juvenile hi-fins, always assuming that the bit extending from the black is fin and not just fuzziness, and the tail looks like a xomet goldfish. seriously odd.
