Very nice also,I am starting with plants now after 30 years of just fish and you just posted what I have in my head for one tank.Those are amazon swords right?
I love my Modesta's ,so many people are not impressed by them or their temperment. I lost my Dario's and four of my Robusto's some years back and I am still VERY upset by that. I had five of each. Our selections and availibility here are limited and Robusto's are never seen.
When I laid my rocks flat like yours they accumulated crud under them. Do you pick them up every week or two or let them lie?
Your Dario's are spectacular too!!!!! I am not jelaous , just very,VERY impressed,it is so hard to speak with your fingers and get the point across clearly

Graeme - i "hate" you. I am getting all wet here trying to make some nice pictures, Well, I am using low skill camera I guess, Cannon PowerShot A 400. Any BASIC suggestions for nice clear photo, would be appreciated.
This is the best and clearest I could do focusing on one fish.
It is terribile. it is blurry, no matter what i do...
p.s. In your "Botia dario habitat" picture, what is the name of those plants?

Tinman. Yes they are Amazon swords. Nice and easy plants to keep (just my type)
In the tank above they are pieces of wood with a few entry and exits for the loaches, plus they tend to dig their own entrances and such. Yeah, i often lift them out and give them a bit of a scrub and vac up any crap that may be left underneath.
Andy, they are my old timers. They must be knocking on 2.5 inches now.

I would say around 80% of the pictures are deleted with them being out of focus. I do set the camera to auto-focus and center point the focus on my camera. Some times i take pictures with the camera flash on and the tank lights off and the same the other way round. I try to keep the glass really clean so the camera doesn't focus on the glass instead of the fish. The plants are Amazon swords.

I have a Canon Powershot A75, but I don't know what the settings are like on yours. The first thing you want to do is get a tripod of some kind. Take lots of pictures and delete most of them. Occasionally everything is perfect and the loach is cooperative and you get a great image. Loaches are not easy subjects.
Your vantage point determines what you can see.
