Holy crappola! Those are just incredible!. Pangio shelfordii are an extremely varied species but I didn't think that any variants featured any hint of conventional kuhli striping. The lateral mottling is typical of some shelfordii variants but in pictures I've seen it's always more defined and associated with a speckled brown dorsal surface.

I checked the species index, and there are actually no photos for tis species there, so it would be great if you made yours available to the site! On another note, it seems like some photos appear for several species as well.

Oh, my photographs are always available to Loaches Online. :wink: But first we need to be 100% sure that these are indeed Pangio shelfordii. Sometimes the suppliers list them as what they *think* they are, but this is not always correct. With such a high level of variation in this species, it may take a bit of looking into.

Very true! After looking into different descriptions the Pangio alternans seems very close to these on identification. Time will tell after having a good bit of looking or investigating.
