I'm guessing that this fish will be in the 7" to 8" range. Bigger would be really impressive if it retains it's baby looks.

Wow, nice pics Emma, i suspect that thick line thin line , is a Syncrossus juvenile trait ! thinking back to that pic of the two juvenile Berdmorei , the one Kamphol showed to us , way before they were imported, they had that similar style pattern ! these look like tiny Helodes ? there seems to be a good few rays in that dorsal , BUT we shall have to see them after they have grown ! WHO NEEDS HYBRIDS ?

hey Paleodave! my sentiments exactly. rivertank or Grrr, rivertank or Grrr............... it was almost rivertank untill i thought about these, and convinced myself that a 5x2x2 would cost more to set up as a rivertank Emma does give us difficult things to think about

New location, new species, new variant of a known Syncrossus

Either way, the pure joy of fish-keeping is watching them grown into adulthood and these little chaps will certainly bring this!

As promised, here are a few pics and a couple of short video clips of the new little Laos Tiger loaches. They obviously still need to put on weight (lots of frequent feedings of small foods are taking place every day), but I also suspect that the size of the head in comparison with the body could also be a juvenile trait (I've personally never seen any Botiine species this small before). Although these were supposedly coming in at 1.5" TL, most are actually well under that. Because of this, I am not comfortable with putting them on general sale just yet, the only exceptions will be for those serious hobbyists who can ensure their needs are met whilst still in a crucial stage of growth development.
