I would say that's actually a good price considering the newness of this species availability.

My suspicion, based on the seller's location is that these fish were possibly brought in by Oliver Lucanis at Below Water in Montreal. He does not sell retail.

Ahhhh.... putine.
A heart-attack wrapped in angel's winges...

Nothing good/interesting is ever availible through the shops here- and that which is is usually silly-costly. I must remember to look into imporitng my own through these sorts of dealers.

Do folks usually have a good experience with this? Not too much death/disease/low weights or general drama?

I'd take that with a pinch of salt. The supplier is listing them as this for want of a better name. They know they are Syncrossus, but whether new or a 'similar to', no-one knows just yet. This sort of naming thing occurs all the time, and once it is clear what something is, the name chnages on the stocklist.

Ooooh sorry. I'm grumpy because it is 'that time' and I don't feel well. Forgive me please, Mr Curator of the Newcastle Aquarium! :P
