Finally I got something. Here it is. The "dot" above pelvic(?) fin? Anybody? Visibile only from one side, fish is doing ok in every way. It seems to me it is not on the "skin", but inside.

Take a look on this one I got here:



That round gray/black spot started showing up about 5 months ago. At first I was afraid it could be some disease but it developed to a normal skin marking (present only at it´s left side).

Yes, I've seen young clowns with what are not the normal black markings, but start out pale and seem to darken at times, and even sometimes disappear, then come back again darker. Little ones, though.

Hi Shari,

This one above is about 3". When I first noticed that black spot I started wondering what damn disease was that as she was absolutelly normal in behavior and eating as well the the others. It took a couple weeks for the spot to be fully grown up and for me to realise that it was not an isue but a strip marking.

It is great relief. Had silimar thoughts like Marcos. What the heck is going on, I know tank is "healthy", everything is ok with everything, ideal, and suddenly this marking occures and grows...and I scratch my head...marking grows, fish is ok...I tought it maybe some genetic disease...with this fish.

Maybe one interesting fact, since we are obviously not talking about illness, but "colour variation" ( cant remember better words ), this particular clown is little darker than rest of guys. So I find this interesting...it reminds me on humans and our skin, you know what I mean, pigmentation...every individual has markings of some kind.

Now instead of being worried, I am anxious to see how big this spot will grow.
