updated hillstream tank pics and new fish

Hillstream tank in July, shortly after the green water episode:



Today:



Two of four new guys. Not sure what they are.




I think one may be Nemachelius ornatus. The other guy has snakeskin markings on his face, spotted light yellow fins, and a definite caudal blotch. His color is faded in this pic, but is a dark red-brown with gold stripes. I'll try to get better pics shortly, but they're hiding out a lot of the time, still.
The lfs said they all came in one shipment of 'tiger loaches' from Myanmar (Burma). From what I could tell there were at least 4 different types of brook loaches in the tank.

Any thoughts?

Nice looking tank, shari.
Personally, I like all the green and I think the hillies do too.
I think one of those new guys is Schistura kohchangensis.
I have had them and they are a cool fish.

I agree - very nice to see so many plants in a river/brook set up. Riverbrook.. Sounds like a mental hospital for loach addicts!

nice tank, love the lace java fern

You know what I realized about windelov fern recently?





It will attach itself to algae covered rock. All these started out as tiny snips blown off the motherplant that got stuck in a crevasse. When I noticed they were attached, I moved the rocks into more open areas to get them extra light. They're growing nicely.

Of course, any more plant growth and I may never see the fish in the tank...

Looking at the index, I don't think that one guy is N. ornatus. He has bands all along his back, head to tail.

i like your setup very much, it's giving me a few ideas for mine.
shari how do the plants do in the current?. mine always rot away.

Great tank and great pictures Shari. Usually we get all of your good advice and ideas on treating diseases, so it is really nice to see one of your tanks and occupants.
