Spawning success

Post by Mad Duff »

I had my A. zolternans spawn a few weeks back and I have thought on a couple of occasions that I have seen movement but on closer inspection seeing nothing I have thought that no fry survived :(

This afternoon I fed the Rivertank with Lobster eggs and was watching the tank when a small movement caught my eye, at first I thought it was one of the hundreds of young cherry shrimp that have suddenly appeared in the tank. I watched for a while where I saw the initial movement but nothing, then just as I was about to walk away out from under the cobble appeared a 1cm long A. zolternans Image Image

I ran and got the camera and got about 4 photo's before it hid again but only this one was in focus (probably due to my hands shaking  )

I had a bit of a closer look thinking where there is one there may be others and to my surprise I counted 4 in one corner of the tank so I don't know how many are hidden in the rest of the tank :D

Sweet! Oh man, I'd be thrilled if any of my fish ever produced babies.
