Red marks on my Weather loach

Post by Daveuk »

Hi nice forum.
I got two new weather loachs from a local petshop.
I quarentine them. but within two days, they had red marks and pass on with in 30 mins.
I try salts
And a bacteria treatment. but with no luck.

What treatments if any are out there for weather loachs?
Thankyou
David

Hi David,

Welcome to Loaches Online.

When you purchased these Weather loaches, did they look ok in the shop? Do you know how long the shop had them in for when you purchased them? (they should keep them off sale for a few weeks after arrival in case they are carrying anything nasty).

Is the water in your quarentine tank the same water chemistry as the water in the store?
pH, KH, GH and TDS would be very important to measure.
Then set up a q-tank that matches the measurements in the store.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!
