Already have my copy on pre-order from Amazon, as I had a gift certificate.

Maybe I can get Jim to autograph it :)

In Canada, Chapters will sell it for $29 (see http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/books/Loa ... aches%2527 or slightly less if you are a member. The site doesn't say when it will ship though, as it is not available to order yet.

Urgh!

I was a worker in independent bookstores for 16 years. I hate to see my name appear in a URL that undersells what any retailer can afford... Plus I hate Chapters/Indigo and their quasi-human president for a number of reasons.

BSLindgren. Please buy the book on Amazon, if you need the discount, and not from Chapters/Indigo. This company wouldn't know how to source or sell a book if it was the only book ever printed, and it was printed by them.

Better yet, get your lfs or local bookshop to order a copy for you. This would not undermine the local economy in such an obvious way.

Yikes. Oh well Amazon.ca is even less expensive and they are taking orders now, so for those with limited budgets: http://www.amazon.ca/Loaches-Natural-Hi ... 474&sr=1-3
I support my LFS by buying fish and supplies (rather than going to WalMart, for example), but a book? I'd have to pay a huge premium price for a book at the LFS, so I might just stick with Amazon or a local bookstore (we have a great independent one in PG surprisingly enough!)

WOWWWW!!! Unbelievable. I just want to tell you all, it was a pleasure working with you on this project. The road was bumpy and full of tests but in the end, it paid off...big time. I sincerely hope that this book of ours will shed important light unto those aquarists thinking of caring for our favorite fish. Loaches deserve the best care possible, and our book is (for the moment at least) the best possible guide there is on them!

I cant wait to get my copy.

From TFH:

The books will arrive next week. All advance orders - through all Amazon outlets, through the magazine, and to bookstores - will be shipped at once from the TFH warehouse.

I wonder what amazon.com is talking about then. How odd.

Not to throw a spanner in the works, but the books will be shipped from the TFH warehouse to the distributor, who will then ship directly to the customer. That may be the reason for the backdating...
books. gotta love em!
