To start off proper, what a great site :D
I,m Michael from the Netherlands, quite a newbie in this great hobby
and the very proud owner of 2 tanks, a Rekord 60 and a Vision 180
in that same Vision we (me and my girl) keep 10 Yasihukotakia Sidthimunki
and 4 Beaufortia Leveretti Kweichowensis (and other none Loach related fish offcourse)
I,m really in love with the Hillstream Loaches and ordered some Sewellia's and Gastromyzon's
I have a relatively high current and excellent oxygenation and as the Kweicho's are doing really great so far, i think the others should be just fine

The dream is a big (5 or 6 ft.) hillstream tank purely for the 3 mentioned species.
But as our house is too small for that i,ll keep the dream alive by keeping a small amount of them in the Vision 180 :)

Also, the Sidht's are very nice fish to keep, amazing behaviour.
I really saw em come to live when i added 6 to the existing 4
might even add some more in the future :D

Hello, from Phoenix, Arizona. I've been lurking for several months and decided to go ahead and jump in! Lots of great info here and I've learned quite a bit. I've been a fishhead for over 20 years (focused mainly on African Cichlids) and am finally in a position to allow MTS to run rampant.

I've always enjoyed the antics of clown loaches (used to work in an aquarium store.....like, a lifetime ago) and finally have the time/space/means to set up a proper environment for them...as well as a few other loach species that intrigue me. I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the wealth of knowledge and experience available here.

I'm jeremy i have 20years and I'm Belgian. I have some tank, a Rio 180 l with pangio khulis, danio(choprae, tw03) and hillstream loaches (scitulus and leveretti), 20l with betta and a 60l with tetra and cory(hastatus). I'm sorry for my English ...I hope I will improve my English and my information about loaches.
My futur project is to create a "biotope" tank for a sidthimunki shoal.

Welcome bic!

Not to worry about your english. Many here are from non-english speaking countries.

And a late welcome to loachcoach, too!

Hi all.

I'm Rodrigo. I'm 26 yr's old and live in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
I've been a loach enthusiast since later 80's. In that time, someday i went to uncle's house to see his new fishes. That was the first i saw clown loaches i got addicted into that funny and lovely fishes.
Btw i've never kept loaches myself until this year. I'm planning to setup a 350+ liter rivertank for clowns, yoyos and my corys (my other passion).
Today i have a 70 liter tank to grow 2 yoyos and 4 clowns (they just quited quarantine time). The clowns are 2'' while the yoyos are 3.5''.
I found this page on google long ago and have read almost every loach topic and articles. My idea is to collect as much information i can before build my rivertank.

I hope you help me!
PS: I'll post pictures of my little ones soon...

HI. My name is Karena. I'm in Tucson, AZ right now. I got my first loach about a year ago. She's a gold weather loach. I've since bought two more and they all keep me very entertained. Whenever I figure out how to post some pictures, I'll try to get some up.

Hello Everyone!

Yay, so glad I got to this forum - so much info and everyone actually appears to know what they are talking about!! :D

I'm from Cape Town in South Africa and have been into the fish hobby for about 8 months now and have been doing quite well. Had a few casualties, but have by little scaly babies that I love so very much. Never knew fish could be this special and seem to have little personalities of their own!

Only have 1 clown loach at the moment which has been with me for about 7 months and his/her (?) name is Bonti. It's behaviour never fails to amuse me and my mom refers to herself as its grandma already! :D

Anyways, will stop yapping now. Nice to be a member now!
