Do you really not know the answer to that?!

This is the first T-shirt in a whole series that Jonathan is creating to help raise awareness of MFR. It was voted for by many of his acquaintances as something they would buy. It is obvious that there are other fish that outgrow tanks more quickly, but clowns will and do outgrow tanks on a regular basis, albeit over a longer period of time. This is all about raising funds for the work that Jonathan does, not a discussion over what you think should not have appeared on the T-shirt.

If you have nothing nice to say, then please refrain from saying anything at all. This guy is doing an amazing (and often thankless) job rehoming these fish and anything that draws attention to it has to be good.

A Clown Loach doesn't have to be 12" to outgrow a tank, unfortunately due to lack of thought and knowledge of a lot of shop staff Clown Loaches are sold to people to go in 24" tanks and smaller.

Fish between 4" and 6" still need a lot of space due to their levels of activity and bursts of speed.

Reading here for a while, we often see people looking for homes for clowns that have outgrown their owner's tanks.

And--it makes perfect sense to offer a Tee with a Clown Loach on it on a Loach forum. Savvy marketing. I'd bet the clown will get less orders on monsterfishkeepers, though. 8)

It's not so much marketing... What I'd love to see happen is someone waering this shirt at their local fish store and someone walk up to them and say "That's how big cl's get?!?" What I'd like to put on the first few shirts are those "shocker" fish to people. Pacus, RTC's, TSN, Oscars, bala sharks, tinfiol barbs... You know, the ones that are cheap, readily available but get HUGE!

A lot of people think fish are disposable pets. It's those people that just don't get MFR. That's fine, I'm getting used to it.

I love fish, I dream about them, everything I see on a jobsite or in a store I try to figure out how I can incorporate said item into a fish tank or pond. It's an obsession really...

Rescueing started for me when I was about 6 yrs old. I found a blue fish flopping around in a storm catch, I picked it up and ran home with it, stopping off at a puddle to let him swim for a minute... Then put it in one of my Dads tanks... Where in a few days time everything else was missing  I'll never forget the look on my Dads face....

Aquarium set up = $200
Tropical fish = $100
Dechlore/meds = $50
Rescuing a small "blue fish" = PRICELESS!

Get a shirt, help a fish, educate someone. :)

TFG- I made the "donation". Can't wait to get the Marge shirt. I like the idea of wearing the shirt when I'm at my LFS to show people how big clowns can get. Most often they end up in a tanks less than 20 gallons / 75 liters.

What fish do you plan on featuring next? Tigger Perhaps?

Not sure really... My plan was every 100 shirts offer a new design. So I've got some time.

I'm thinking it'll be an oscar though... Then a big cat, probably tigger. Then a clown knife or aro... then a RTC.... The printer I use says no problem to have all these shirts available.... I might push up different options sooner if I have time this winter... We'll see....

Thanks everyone!

And oh yeah.... Emma.... YOU GO GIRL!

I love supporters, those are the kind of people who really understand me :D

Is Marge printed at actual size?
For larger fish will they only come in XL? :)
RTC may have to come in a wrap-around.... Tail on the back. Actually, you could probably put both head and tail on the chest- going all the way around. No longer a 15 dollar t-shirt. On good cotton could sell for $25.
Possibly put scale-bar under graphic (?)
Brainstorm.

Actually a wrap around RTC shirt was suggested on another forum... But it'd be too expensive.... Neat lookin' though...

I'd say Marge is close to scale on an XL shirt...
I'm 6'2" 250lbs and this is an XL....

I may have to order a few of these and bring them to my local fish store and ask them for $5 each to help offset the cost... VERY NICE!

This is great! I'll be ordering right after I finish typing this.

I am also going to pass your link along to friend of mine who desperately needs to re-home an Iridescent shark, he can't house anymore. It's outgrown his 100G, and he has no more money or space to keep this fish.
