Out of interest we have several B. striata in our 8ft loach display tank at work, and one of them is huge. It must be 4.5" long and is really chubby. We've had several offers to buy her, but no way are we selling that one! I'd say this fish has been in that tank for about 2.5 years and was introduced as a little 1.5" baby.

thanks emma, appreciate the info. :) thats good to know, I may have been "misinforming" a bit on striata, was under impression they top out around 3" mark.

they are great little loaches, had mine about a year and really like them.

i was also told that 3" is the most common, but obviously they can get quite large...
