Well I guess that I am saying something wrong or you have an aversion to snails.
If you have MLB you will observe many when you turn the lights on.
30 minutes later you will observe only a a few if none.
At night the MLB are a "h...l" of a cleanup crew.
Their density can very easily be controlled via feeding quantity.

I'm with Jones - I like the things. They're good for the keeping the substrate turned and cleaning up any missed food.
