Graeme McKellar wrote:Hi Erik, Nice camera the D80. I've had one for about a year now and just love it. I have the 18-135 and 70-300 lenses and my next one will be the 60mm Micro. I love the rich colours the Nikon gives.
Cheers Graeme. PS. Manual focus is really hard to master so stick to "spot focus" and use focus-lock. Always focus on the eye.
Nice pictures, thanks for sharing those.
I've only had my D80 for a few days, but I already love it so much. I have the 18-70mm lens and plan on doing landscapes, so my next lens will probably be the Sigma 10-20mm. These pictures were mainly practice to develop a feel for the camera, but maybe I'll be looking into a micro lens in time to come. Can't wait to see what such a lens can capture of the kubs.
All my pictures here were manual focus and like you said it is really difficult, but good practice. (The eye is a good tip, thanks!) I still need to work out all the settings, I'm sure there's much more than I've been working with so far. Absolutely fantastic camera!

I see 2 beautiful kubs in those cropped pics!
Graeme, I'm curious. How did you know he used a D80...?
I didn't see that mentioned in Dutch's previous posts.

Thanks everyone!
Sea Sprite, I've received a lot of advice on which camera to buy in the off-topic part of the forums. I started a thread there a few months ago since there are some very talented and enthusiastic photographers out here. I'm sure Graeme must have seen it.

Dang, maybe I should have made some really spooky claims about Graeme's clairvoyance.
