Congrats on the babies.., and the new tank! It looks great! I am curious to hear more about your set-up, and how many adults you had originally. It is good to hear any time anyone has success breeding loaches!

caught the last of the little one's, I hope.



There now all in the leaf mould tank and doing fine, the size differance between them are amazing. There's one at least an inch long and others like they have just hatched. Ta king photo's of them is next to impossible.
At feeding time there all out and about.

wonderful stuff Capeldrae ! Looking at that tank I bet it was like home from home for the Pangio's ?

I first logged on to this site, when I was looking for some advice I reckon I had a baby pangio in my tank. That gave me 8 in total and I added 8 khulies [strippey's as my grandaughter called them]. After several attempts and differant experiments to get them to breed I had almost given up. A leeking tank forced me to put them in my river tank, where as everyone now know's they had bread.
Whilst watching, before the baby's were born I reckoned I had 3 females and 5 males due to tnhe differance in size.
Whilst watching, after the baby's were born I recon, going by the above I have 5 females and about 20 plus males.

Dude i wish you saw them when they were smaller so you could tell me if mine are Kuhli's or not

baby pangio's are all doing well, the differance in size is starting to worry me slightly I hope the pictures below show the differance.

Are the three pangios in the second picture all from the same spawning, or is it a picture of a baby and two adults?

I believe they are all from the same spawning, as I said the size differance is amazing and the quality of pictures dosn't show this.

A second spawning, now you've got me thinking?

I,ve come to the conclusion that it is definately not a second spawning.
Friday is my water change day and it stresses the fish, so when you take photo's they look pale.
This week I done the water change on Wednesday and tonight they look, well like Pangio's should.

Just a new update
Due to unforseen circumstances I had to rehome my khulies. They now live here.



Whilst stripping down there old tank I had a chance to count them and I have 5 strippy's [as my grand daughter calls them], 8 adult pangio's and 32 baby pangio's.





As you can see that the tank that they are now kept in is only three quarters full as I'm doing an experment and it represents the stream they live in, in there summer months. I am in the process of biulding a tray [full of holes] that wil sit above the present water level but below the fluval pump so that when I swith on the fluval the water will run down it and through the holes, representing the rains and I will add leaves and top up the water, whilst droping the water temp.

It's nice to see all the babies. 32 is a lot of them. I hope I can have mine spawn for me someday. I have 5 oblonga, but I'm not too sure how to tell the males from the females. Once the females fill with eggs, I'll know, but, till then, I just have to guess. I think I have 3 females and 2 males.

Your experiment sounds really neat. I wish you the best with it. Maybe you'll get some striped babies. Keep us updated. The tank looks really nice. I've copied your pile of large stones that you had in another pic, and my loaches are always poking their heads out of the pile.
