I have critters in my shrimp tank, I believe them to be daphnia and planaria. I did at one point have hydra attached to the air tube in the tank but I replaced it and haven't seen them since, didn't want them getting my shrimplets. The bugs swimming around in the tank don't bother me, which is good. I don't want to put fish in the tank, that might eat the little shrimp.

The last time I was cleaning the filters of my tank, soon after I had finished, quite a few tiny black snail like creatures appeared. They were only about 1 or 2 mm long, but there were loads of the things!!

Haven't seen them since, but i assume they must live in the filter area if that's where they came from in the first place!


Is this a good or bad sign??
