Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone, aswell as for all the help :)

I would love the pdf, Emma. I will pm you promptly, thank you.

Can you reccomend a minimum tank size for this Sewellia? A girl around here may have gotten one for her 20 liter tank, which I suspect won't do at all. In addition I was under the impression that hillriver loaches generally should be kept in groups?

No, as you say, 20 litres is way to small. They don't need massive tanks though - I'd say 15 - 20gal as an absolute minimum. As for groups, no, its not absolutely nessicary I would say, although we saw some pictures recently of S. Lineolata in their natural habitats and they did appear to congragate in groups.

This is essential reading if you want to keep any type of hillstream loach, including the Sewellia genus. They are all highly specialist fish which need dedicated tanks.http://www.loaches.com/hillstream_loaches.html

My Sewellia setup, a 30 gallon with a 10 beside it, linked by pump and syphon returns. Lots of water movement from an Aquaclear 802 and 3 small HOBs, plus mini powerheads.
