Hillstreams in general need a long time to settle. For some it goes very quickly but some take a long time until they eat properly.
It surprises me already because my Hypergastromyzon and Gastromyzon love the frozen food.
My Hypergastromyzon ate from the beginning to really like frozen brine shrimp, tiny bloodworms and daphnia.
The most obvious is I have noticed is that they are almost non-territorial.
Much more information I can give you at this time not unfortunately.
In Dr Tan's book we learn about the behavior unfortunately not very much.

forgive me if this is a bad question. That rock wall on the back of the tank is gorgeous! How is it made?

The rock back wall is not self made, you can buy it from the company Back to Nature.
It is not very cheap but the hillstream loaches love it!
