There has been some sucking of the lemon goldfish a few nights ago but this could have been retaliation. The goldie was nudging the loach off the glass by tickling its tail. This happened more than once and then the sucking began. It hasn't occurred since or, to that matter, before this as far as I know.
The aqua shop said that the golden loaches were alright with goldfish as they were not aggressive. Only the grey and black striped ones were liable to be a nuisance. They seem to get along just fine for most of the time.
It will be interesting to see if this is true.
One other interesting observation is that the goldfish get quite high after eating one of the flakes I give them but another brand keeps them calm. It's just like kids with additives. They chase round the tank and nudge eachother after Tetra flakes. The others are less coloured and don't smell as much.
