P. javanicus/oblonga is always described as being uniform with a paler belly, isn't it?
and p. pangia is, I'm pretty sure, the one I have one of. I think. unless it's something else, obviously, such as p alcoides. bah, bah and humbug. fishbase utterly contradicts itself as to whether some species names are synonyms or separate species - should I be surprised??

Nope. Apparently Pangio borneensis and Pangio pangia are very similar. According to 'you know who'
Pangio alcoides are black and white basically.
I still would like to see these of course.

the thing I really like about these pandas is the little duck mouth and the great big eyes.
I'm wondering if with more frequent water changes I could overstock the tank the kuhlis are in and add these ....
and Graeme, would you be able to send me that pdf if I sent you an IOU for wine?

Hi Emma, I brought six of these a week ago (sold as Golden Khullies). They’re great little fish, far bolder than any of my other khullies. I thought they would head straight under the rocks not to be seen for weeks, nut no they’re out constantly on the go foraging or climbing plants.

That's weird,
Pangio doriae are the usual ones that get given that common name:

I guess whoever labelled up just got it wrong, the previous picture is definitely the fish I got. Here's the best picture i could get
I have looked at Pangio Doriae before i wouldn't mind some they look great

You might have got them for a bargain price if the store didn't realise what they were. These chaps are pretty pricey.

They were being sold three for £7 any bargain I may have got was negated by the extortionate price I paid for a light tube.
but that's another story.

You still did very well for yourself on the fish. Ours have to be almost double that.

Very nice. I wish I could find a store around here that sold stuff like that. I cant even find the regular old striped Kuhlis.

Well, the supplier has obliged and has given us at least a bit of info to go on!
They have told me that the Panda kuhlis came from a collector based in Thailand, but they could have come from the Thai/Myanmar border area. They claim to have sent some samples to an expert for ID purposes so that they can update their stocklist with the proper name at some point.
