Lt. Col. RBS Sewell seems to be more relevant/likely, notice his name next to Hora, and from hereThe.Dark.One wrote:Perhaps Robert Sewell (1845-1925), a civil servant in colonial India, and author of a book on India???mikev wrote: Sewellia (any clues?) -- ought to be named after RBS Sewell ?
While R.B.S. indeed starts with Robert, it is probably not the same fellow since the Colonel was elected to Royal Society in 1934, see this ref for a brief Bio and photo (which I hate to admit, does not really resemble Sewellia).Lt. Col. R.B.S. Sewell did tremendous work on the oceanic fauna. S.L. Hora ("whom Salim Ali admired most" and was praised by one and all, including J.B.S. Haldane) and his band of followers, who included K.S. Misra, E.G. Silas and A.G.K. Menon, carried out superb studies on freshwater and marine fish varieties.
