exactly my main tank at the moment. when i move again in july/august im thinking of redoing the tank with this exact setup (provided ill have the money). i wish id found martin's writeup before i got it cycled, but oh well the future holds great things, especially since i spend hours everday reading and gaining knowledge for said future.tglassburner wrote:Martin, Thanks for the basic plan of the river manifold.

I can give you an exact part list of what I used if you'd like.
Right now, it is filled with water to do a temp check, I'll see what the temp is in the morning. The flow is great, got some nice flat rocks with some fossil imprints in them to put in the tank all prepped. Soon as the stand is finished, I'll be moving the vannies and the crossostoma and the lonely goby over.
Also my reseal job is holding.

How are you cycling this tank?

I have all of the rocks that are in the QT plus the H.O.T. magnum has been running on an established tank for 2 months with the biowheel and biomedia in it, the prefilters are also soaking in an established tank to start with some bio. Does this sound ok? Should I set it up and cycle it with some Danios or something? What would be a good dither besides Zebra Danios?

The fact that the Magnum is fully cycled is great. That, plus the other stuff should get things going. I would try to add some Biospira bacteria if you can find it. If not TLC is another good bacteria, but is not as good as Biospira.
As far as dithers, danios such as kyathit, roseus, choprae and white clouds would be my choice.
I'm sure others would have additional suggestions.
