I think 5 would fit, but they are kind of agressive little buggers, with each other and other fish. Probably wouldn't bother the yo yo at all...
Tiger Barbs are the more aggressive barbs around....

IMO there are good reasons to consider them as clown companions, especially if you have a large group which will be less troublesome, but you have no reason to specifically want tigers.
One of my backgroup fish is Odessa's who are a bit smaller and much milder than tigers...(and in my very biased opinion, much prettier too).
