how often do you do water changes? its suggested to do it fortnightly. i do about two 25% a week. the loaches definitely let me know they like it as well bc they swim up and down the back of the tank endlessly after water changes. i feed them so much food that a good water change is definitely required every few days.

before i came to this forum i used to only do water changes every week or week and a half. the loaches definitely are much happier with more frequent water changes now.

I used to do water changes weekly, but now have done water changes every 4-5 days.
Since I got a new powerhead, I've noticed that they like playing in the strong water current a lot.
I just hope that the powerhead won't tire them out.

it won't they love it. i bet they are much happier and i bet you will be able to tell the difference in behavior. mine looked at me like 'die' and when i added the powerhead they do the loachy dance for me....
