Emma, any other alternatives for Levamisole hydrochloride?

here are one of my clowns(not the 8 inch guys) caught sleeping by the side of the tank

I don't have experience in using any other treatment for Chronic Wasting Syndrome other than Levamisole hydrochloride. I think mikev and others here may have tried other treatments, so hopefully they will chip in with what they have tried and experienced. In many countries, Levamisole can only be obtained through a vetinary surgeon.

You can try Prazipro to treat the clowns. It's a very safe medication. I've used it a few times and it might have helped when I used it.

IMO, older larger wild caught clowns do not acclimate well to the captivity of aquariums.

I got 5- 6"+ wild caught clowns '1.5 YEARS' ago that would't eat. 2 of them I had to euthenize about 4-5 months after I got them because they got very skinny and wasted away. I might have to euthenize 1 more soon because he's getting very skinny. Only 1 of them has been eating staple foods regularly and is fat and healthy. The other skinny one has just started eating cucumbers and might have a chance.

I've been feeding the skinny clowns shrimp, clams, and snails mostly.
They are missing something from nature that is essential in to diet, but I don't know what. Perhaps it's live fish. After I introduced these clowns to my main tanks after a quarantine period, about 50 tetras mysteriously disappeared.

They look good to me. What I meant in my last post by "probably not", is that digging is not a sign of anything. It's just a common activity.

they look like good specimens. just wait till you fatten em up.

i will tell you, my loaches would eat any fish less than 1". i have cherry barbs with them now but my biggest is 5". maybe they need more food if they are eating all your dither fish. i had a big problem with danios and loaches. all of the danios would dissappear overnight.

could we get a full tank shot? i like your setup!

well, i cant put any small feeders in as they will overflow down to my sump....

maybe all they need is time...i hope!

i just got another large clown..very very expensive..

i think he has skinny problem...quite thin...

started 1st treatment using metronidazole(azoo anti-endoparasite) and saw some weird parasites floating around..will now treat them with anti bacterial treatment tomorrow.

The active ingredients are nitrofurantoin, mentronidajal, tinidajal. Is it ok for loaches?

any other suggestions?
