Thank you's.
David - that's a good question, and believe me, I'm working on it. Just have to do some persuading.....

This is really cool. I was watching the video and looking over at the one I have who is approaching 7" and it looked so small. I will be watching this thread to watch it grow

Incredible. I would have loved too see what it looked like a few days after hatching. I wonder what type of loach transformation it underwent while nobody was looking. Nontheless it is remarkable. My first thought at seeing the picture was Awwwww. I have not been able too post much as I am working on my Angelfish and Discus. I have 400 or so angel swimmers at the present time, Today I set up 9 more tanks

. No luck with my Sewellia as of this now. I removed all Schustrua and Noemachellus from my river tank a week ago to rule out predation. I am keeping a close eye on them. Fingers crossed. I hope I have some Emma luck.

The fry are growing quickly, they are up to about 3cm TL now!
In the end, Graham and Abby decided that they already have enough tanks at home, so wouldn't be able to house the other 2 (that were at the shop) with themselves. So they said that they'd like us to take them so that they could be reunited with the one we took. Ever since they were acclimatised to our baby tank this evening, they have all been really interacting with each other and doing the loachy dance in the corner together.
They also seem to posess chameleon-like colour change capabilities, which I must say, I haven't really noticed with adult Weather Loaches. When acclimatising them, we balanced the bag inside a light grey bucket and gradually added small amounts of water from the little tank. When they were eventually added to the baby tank, the new 2 had taken on a light grey/silver tone which matched the colour of the bucket, whereas the one already in our tank was a golden-brown, matching the colour of the silica sand. The other two have since darkened down a little. I bet this comes in very useful for camouflage in the wild, particularly whilst they are still at such a small size.

So cute, i find my weather loach(7") sometimes changes colour to bage(sand) when a bit spooked. Like when my geophagus brasiliensis (Henry) chases him off hi home.lol
Any luck with the persuading?

mine change colour a fair bit; ranging through grey to gold with beige and brown as well. I don;t mean the colour that golden weather loach have, this is more like iron pyrites than that odd fleshy colour the golds have...

I'm getting there....
Very interesting to hear about the colour changing in the adults too, David & Sophie, thank you. Up until now, I have only been able to observe them at the shop, and never actually seen this happen.
