Finally got some

Thanks everybody for the behavior-describtion of their Y. Caudipuntatas. Otherwise I would have further hesitated to put some in my tank, as I don´t cope well with agression in my tank. Emma educated me re the names, with inerrable ichthyological intuition she named the fish that I saw in February in a store, as EOS and Caudipunctata.

I occasionally took a look at the tank I´ve spotted them, assuming the store gets them on a regular base. I was wrong, my 5 new friends were a one time shipment and called out as "modesta". They were in a tank together with EOS. And they´ve been their since FEBRUARY  One has only his right eye left...

I finally bought them 31.July. They are shy, however, looking straight into your eyes, when watching them - they have character. in the earlier days their clicking was a little brighter and softer than the one from my clowns - today I can not hear any difference anymore - even though the clowns are double lenght and x-times in weight. My Caudipunctatas, so far, behave, very much like clowns, within the group of their own. However, they just started today to spend a little time in the front, but still are insecure (not as bold as the clowns). They have not made a move towards the Amano-shrimp, or other smaller fish yet (at least I did not see it).
Some are sleeping with the other clown girl, in the coconut, others with the alpha-clown and the big cat in the cat-cave.

I´ve watched, my clown-boy to rest his barbels on the back of one of the C´s - I reached for the camera, but the move made the C. hide  - would have been a very sweet shot.
Talking about shots, here they are (please note the one without sprinkles on the dorsal...)

During acclimatising quite faded:

"REye" knows how valuable his right eye is, thus knows how to protect it, in danger he covers his good eye:

Taken without flash, the halogen desk lamp shows them in a nice color, (reminds me of Martins bamboo-light)

Taken very quick (only 2 shots during putting the treasure into the tank, an exeption, as the loach was flashing the spines, but as soon as I opened the hand he folded them back in. Typically I move as fast as possible...)

==> This specimen has no sprinkles on the dorsal, but a darker spot in the front base of that fin. On the tail, his sprinkles are limited to the rear edge of the tailfin

In the tank, flash still does not show natural color

Beautiful, Wolfram, and it is great to know that you gave the one-eyed specimen a good home. 8)

The one with the single row of speckles on the caudal fin reminds me of this chap, who we never managed to ID properly. This fish came in with a batch of Yasuhikotakia eos and I believe is still at the shop:

... can´t leave a poor guy, with a tank full of EOS by himself... Guess what, "REye" shows the most colorful dorsal-fin now. Not seen on my pictures at all, nice row of big spots close to body (couldn´t get a good shot yet) ... it´s way of saying thanks? NO :!:  , it´s a fighter, has a good belly, devending successfully his area... glad I got that guy :)

"A loach can be destroyed, but never defeated" (... did I get this right Ernest...?)
