I actually have two tripod options but find them very restrictive at times.
the fish move around too much although in the case of the "At home" pic I could have used one.

Apart from those pics of the G.stellatus without flash, everything else was taken at 1/2500/sec, so movement is virtually cancelled out.

Great shots Martin.

I also find a tripod too restrictive especially in a larger tank.

Yeah. I have a mini tripod which was actually part of a small telescope plus a full-size ultra-adjustable tripod. It's just too cumbersome when you want the camera close to the subject because with a cabinet stand you have to lean it into the aquarium. At some point it becomes unstable. This somewhat negates the reason for using it.
