Thanks all for the comments The Epalzeorhynchos bicolor is in here on short term while he grows up a bit, Im afraid my Yasuhikotakia modesta would shred him at the moment, I have a 5 inch Epalzeorhynchos frenatus and Epalzeorhynchos bicolor who are both as mellow as it goes so I can always swap them around if problems arise. I remember these being quite relaxed when kept alone when I was a little girl
Emma the Pangio sp actually came from yours, they are going to be part of a little breeding project in the new year once they settle in correctly (I keep my pH quite a bit lower than most so I want to give them a good few months).

Lovely! I do hope you manage to get somewhere with the Pangio spawning attempt, all the females of this species still at the shop all look like they need to drop eggs! Do you have some males for them?

P.S. As a side note, I know keepers of Vaillantella often find feeding them tricky. Mine seem to be going for the usual small frozen foods mix (baby brineshrimp/daphnia/cyclops) and also the Interpet Liquifry No3 yellow powder food. This always seems to get small, 'difficult' fish feeding.

I suspect I have two/three males so I hope they will show an interest in the girls in time What triggers would you use though?
Yea the Vaillantella are being fed three times a day, Hikari mini waffers, micro pellets (morning and afternoon) cyclops, bloodworm, brineshrimp and dalphina(selection each evening). They have only just started coming out in the open areas, still very jumpy. It tooks months before my last 4 were confident enough to come up along the front and not be darting away everytime you came near. I have faith in them yet
