Bummer mate

Looking at the pictures I don't see any male that really looks in a sexually active mode right now. Therefore, I doubt that you'd get any breeding activity that quick. Mind you, once they're all settled and well fed such a move could trigger them. My first fry came 2 weeks after putting my first fish into the newly set up 65 River-Tank. Up until then they had lived a few weeks in a 10 gallon holding tank after bringing them over from England.

The change into a better environment got them going.

I very much doubt it Emma, they had been in the store at least a week or so which is why I decided to give them a go. To be honest I had said quite a while ago that I would never buy another fish from there and it was only the fact that the Cheni were going in their own tank that swung it really. I have put a half dose of Sterazin in tonight and the 5 that are left seem to be feeding ok and active enough so fingers crossed.

I put the half dose of Sterazin in last night and the remaining 5 seem fine this morning and seem to be still eating well, I even managed to get some algae of the inside of one of the other tank lids and dropped that in and they went straight for it and seemed to enjoy it

I was passing by the shop that I got them from today and called in and while looking in the fish department the assistant that served me on Sunday asked how the Cheni were doing and after I explained that I had lost 3 and why she netted me another 4 out of the tank to replace them

I'm glad the remaining fish are doing well.
Its good you were able to use your Jedi mind tricks to get an extra replacement fish. The ways of the Force are strong in this one.

I think I have found out what they had been getting fed at the shop, I dropped some flake in tonight and they went wild for it and they also quickly hoovered up some small granules.

I have also moved a couple of stones and pots out of the Sidthimunki tank that were covered in algae and they have been grazing happily on that as well.

That sounds good!!

Sorry to hear of your losses Mad Duff but lovely pictures of the Cheni. I'm sure they'll make wonderful additions for the tank.

LES.. seems to be able to take good pictures of our loaches but my picture taking abilities are rather lacking.
