Just a quick update.
Hav'nt had time to set up the 48 long.
In the 24 took out the powerhead, turned up the temp slightly and the oblonga's are out playing. The stripes have made a showing, but there definately still in hiding.

Great looking tanks, Gary.
Did you build your tank/stand unit? It's really nice. I really like oak, and my husband is just finishing up a tank stand for my 55 gallon. It's made with oak that he salvaged from an old barn granary.

I did not build this one, I got a deal I couldn't refuse. I've built many over the years and I too like the look of Oak. The frame work is out of 2x4's and 4x4's. It's six feet wide and seven feet tall. All equipment is in the bottom section.

So the cichlid tank is actually above the loach tank? Crazy!
BTW, I love the concept of getting a tank offer you can't refuse - particularly in Tahoe. I assume you've seen Godfather II?

That was filmed on the other side of the lake, the Mafia side. I can't say any more or I might wake up next to a horse.
