Martin, i'd still like you to tell me what is WRONG with saying "is it 1946?" do i need new glasses too, or a new brain?

i wish i earnt the average weekly wage. i could do with a brain equival;ent of a car engine chip, additng maths skills, so i could be an accountant and earn a fortune by sitting in a warm office.

There's nothing wrong with saying "Is it 1946?"

Saying "1947" in a competition carries an implied :?: because you're not sure right? It's still a question/statement.

Maybe you do need new specs yanno....In the thread above, the quote is "It is 1946". This is a pure statement with no implication of a :?:

Yeah....that average wage figure.....Dr Momfish asked me about that. It works out in CDN$ at WAY over what one might expect to averagely earn here.......unless you were an accountant :wink:

well, at least i get to keep some pride that i wasnt completely wrong with the answer, but i could try and blame the incorrect use of grammar on being an illiterate norfolk yokel. (i keep getting illiterate confused with illegitimate at the moment :? )
