Temptation! (Botia Dario)

Post by Graeme Robson »

Well..... almost a year after i decided to give up keeping any Botia's so i can concentrate on keeping Grrr Loaches and mostly any non-Botia Loaches i finally cracked under the pressure of seeing them in our lfs and members pictures on here. I purchased 6 baby Botia Dario the other day, these chaps are only around 1 inch in length. Here's a couple of pictures.

Beautiful fish! I can't seem to find them anywhere, and I guess I can't have every species. I see a few white spots on the second fish. Did you notice that?

Great looking fish. Big Al's in Vancouver had a whole bunch a while back (also babies). Are they captive bred or do they catch them that small?
Why does my aquarium always seem too small?

I knew you'd be tempted again! I bet you wish you still had the special U2 specimen, don't you?

bslindgren - yes, they catch them that small. They tend to be available for a few months of the year only. Right now it is Botia dario season.
