[Help] Rivertank in cubic shape?

Post by Rodrigo Carvalho »

Well, i'm finally building a 450 liter for my loaches.
My first projetct was to build an 1,50 m long tank, but due to furniture layout given by my wife and the apartment structure, the space available for the tank was reduced to 1,0 m x 0,75 m.

Within this base area (0,75m²) i can still build a 450 liter tank with height of 0,60m.

I'd like to know how would you set up a rivertank in this shape?

Will this design work well in my case?

Thanks in advance,

Rodrigo

What I would do is build a manifold with sponges and powerheads on diagonally opposite corners. I would build a central "island" of rockwork and thereby create a kind of circular current around the central rocks. I think it would provide the best solution in a tank this shape.

Martin.

Martin,

Thanks for your suggestion.
Although I haven't decide yet, one of the options i'm considering is the one below (a little modification of your suggestion):

This layout would allow the sponges to be hidden behind driftwood and rocks.

What do you think of it?
