Tiny Botia Almorhae

Post by StrangeSavant »

I have a shoal of 5 botia almorhae. They all seem to get along just fine, but there is one that is really, really skinny. He's fairly active for the most part and I usually see him eat at feeding time, if only a little. He doesn't hang out with the other's all that much, but I've never seen him get picked on. Should I be concerned?

I should also note that all the botia's are only about 2 inches.

I would be worried and would treat with Levamisole and Flubendazol. See http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?t=18859. If you have already treated for parasites, I would treat again if he does not start gaining weight within a week or so.
