Lost test card -- API

Post by Katy »

Can anyone with a reasonable camera or scanner post a reproduction of the API nitrate test card? Unfortunately the API site has no help for those of us who lose small pieces of paper in holiday chaos.....

Thanks!

Nitrate:
If it is pale pink it is OK.
The darker it gets the worse it gets. If it is any shade darker than pale pink do a water change (up to 50%) and re-test. If you still cannot see a change in color, if it still looks like any shade of dark pink, do another water change.

I cannot see any color difference from 40 ppm on up. It ALL looks like hot pink/ fuchsia/ whatever!

Pale pink is about 20 ppm, and this is as high as I ever let my tanks get. Any hint of darker pink is bad news.

Barely colored is about 10 ppm. This is enough NO3 to be sure the plants are not deficient.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!

Scroll down the page for scanned images, maybe not the best representations though.
