Black worms

Post by MTS »

Visited the LFS today and picked up some small blackworms. I've noticed others feed their loaches earthworms and bait worms. I hope giving them blackworms are ok. I don't want to keep worms too long in the fridge so how much and how often do you recommend worms in their diet?

I feed my loaches with white worms everyday. They love it!

Hi Marcos,

I tried thawed frozen white Mosquito larve, but they don't sink, and many loaches don't come to the surface... once I feed nice large live white fly-worms they did not sink neither, I had zo sqeeze them to burst... eeeeehhh

O Yeah, those look great. I was thinking often to setup a culture too, once I had small (different) ones, I gave up. But those do look very nice.

MTS, I tried blackworms from lfs, my fish liked them once they got a taste. I rinsed them in cold water every day & kept them in the plastic fish bag they came in in the fridge. I fed them to biggish fish every 3 days or so.

I've read some blackworms come with hitchhikers, leeches as I recall. I didn't see any with mine.
