hi again i thought i'd try and post a few pics of my setup.

tank.. 48x14x12. sand substrata. river/beach rocks.18mth dried ivy (bark left on). java fern, anubis, crypts, valis, and a few 'weeds'.
sponge filter and 6inch airstone. internal filter and aquaclear 50 powerhead with prefilter

any improvements or suggestions will be taken onboard

i should add i keep tropical community fish in a 3 ft tank which is soon to be replaced by a 6ft tank and then ill put in improved lighting !

Very nice photographs. I am wondering if the fish eat the cucumber? I've never had any success feeding cucumber to my fish and am curious to hear other people's experiences. By the way, sticking a spoon through the cucumber to make it sink is a brilliant idea which I have never seen before. Thanks for that tip!

all mine seem to be eating a little of the cuecumber.... i change it daily ... to my wifes disgust, plus it gives mt assassin snails a little to munch on lol

you're welcome and to let ya know, you can use zucchini, it stays better/longer in the water, rather than cukes, as they seem to get funky in the warm water quicker.
