Assistance in Identifying Loach

Hi,

I purchased these loaches yesterday under the name of a pakastani loach as there were in with the pakastani's, however it certainly does not look like one. I think it is the gold tiger loach - but the markings are not quite right with the almost blue/gray stripe inside the black stripe. Any assistance / confirmation would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Craig, welcome to Loaches Online. What you have there is juvenile Botia Rostrata.

As you know, you can often find these as contaminants in with Botia almorhae and more often than not, it's this time of the year. Nice additions.

these four species are easily confused as juveniles. Hope this helps.

After the earlier question I am now doubting the identity of these - I have them as Botia histrionica but now i'm thinking they're the Botia rostrata as well.

That's not hard to understand Craig. Loaches tend to be infectious, plus we try to maintain an air of infectious enthusiasm here on LOL.
