greyD out clowns

ever since i moved my clowns into the 180gal
there never black no more
well the smallest one is black and awsome looking
but th bigger ones are all grey and yellow
when they were in the 75 gal there colors were beautiful
and there yellow was actually a little blacker then normal
but i think it was from feeding them color bits
there now eating color bits and nutramin flakes

i read in other posts that they grey was some pecking order
but why would my little guy be black and the rest grey
hes deffinetly not the leader
my biggest is
they all follow him around
