BBC 'Expedition Borneo'

Did any of the other Brits see this fantastic programme that was on BBC1 every day this week? Such amazing amazing footage, I just wish they'd taken an ichthyologist with them as well. Those rivers were just waiting to be explored!

Just watched it now. Fantastic programme. Didn't envy the guy who went down into the cave and nearly got stuck. A claustrophobic's nightmare.
All weeks run up to Friday - but how quickly can you sprint from Monday.

Yeah, i've been watching them on BBC-style or something. They where called Planet-Earth and Blue-Planet yeah? I was amazed with the massive caves they discovered.

No, this was a new programme on BBC called Expedition Borneo and was on for 30 mins every evening this week. They are trying to raise awareness of the amount of species in the heart of Borneo and get the areas designated as 'protected' to save all the flora and fauna from the loggers who are ruining everything.

I'd be no good there as I'm terrified of creepy-crawlies! But the diversity of life and all the beautiful scenery was incredible. I bet there were some undescribed loach species in those rivers.

I'll bet money you could probably find it on bittorrent. I'm going to look for it on www.torrentspy.com tonight. It's where I get my fix of Dr Who, Torchwood and all the other programmes (notice I used the anglophile spelling) 8)

Yeah superb, i was impressed with the insect variety , as fish keepers we have a lot to choose from ! but the guy was just shining his torch onto his tent , and the diversity was truly amazing , this guy was in seventh heaven ! there were all kinds of critters , Moths, Cicada's, Bees Hornets , literally covered was this tent , FANTASTIC, like Emma said though its a shame they didnt dip into those rivers and streams, what with all the barbs and loaches to mention just a few , i bet the thought of seeing a wild Clown in its natural habitat was on your mind Emma, ha ha , maybe one day ?

I'd love to see them for myself, but I know I wouldn't cope with all those insects! :wink: Snakes and bats I like, but insects - no!!!!
I was thinking of sending the BBC an e-mail to say how much we enjoyed the series and mentioning that if/when they go again to make sure they take an ichthyologist with them! Some of those rapids must have been home to plenty of Balitorid loaches too.

The 5 programmes are available on UKNOVA but it's really difficult to get to get a account on there!

it's a torrent site that's just mostly got British TV programmes on there, been sat for the last 2hours refershing the same page waiting for a signup slot on there and now got an account, so will be downloading these in the morning :)
