I made a batch of Martin's recipe and my Hillstreams won't touch it. The only ingredient I couldn't find was snail flesh. I substituted it with fresh cod fillet. It held together nicely. I followed recipe exact so I'm not sure where I went wrong. I would have thought they would go nuts over it. Any thoughts?

Why won't they eat it?

You may find that they just need to work out that it's food. Mine were not as enthusiastic for it as they are now. My Clowns were the most reluctant to try it initially, but now they're like Piranha with the stuff.
Fish get habituated to certain types of foods which is one reason I try to ring the changes with my Clowns particularly, because they are the most likely to get fixated on a particular thing.

I saw how much they like it in your pics so I'll be patient with their eating habits. They are really focused on any algae in the tank, and with this tank only set up 1.5 months, they don't give it a chance to really start growing yet, but it will catch up. I have a small aquarium setup in window growing algae rocks that I think they will love. 1 Beaufortia kweichowensis goes nuts over algae wafers but the others won't even look at them. I have 4 P.fangi and 2 Beaufortia kweichowensis, what size of homemade food clump and how often should I feed them?
